	Strat copy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Strat copies are most often sold as "budget-priced" guitars aimed at beginning or casual guitar players, and can often be found sold by non-music establishments such as department stores and mail-order catalogs.
		Several other popular name-brand guitars are widely copied, but the sheer quantity of strat copies by comparison puts them in a class of their own.
		Strat copies often differ from the genuine, professional-grade Fender Stratocaster in their use of cheaper wood (the cheapest models have bodies made of "laminated wood", ie plywood) and lower grade hardware (tuners, bridges) and electronic components (especially pickups).

	Pacer Details
		The Strat head era no doubt ended quickly because of the fear of a lawsuit from Fender for copyright infringement making these guitars pretty rare.
		The Strat style body was trimmed down to a sleeker image of it's former self.
		In 1987, except for the Pacer Deluxe, the bodies were changed from the round-ish strat style to the Jackson-influenced "sharp-radiused" body which featured more cornered shaped edges, longer horns and thicker shoulders.The Pacers that utilized this new body was the Pacer Imperial, still with 2 hums but now the bridge hum was angled.

		This guitar is your basic Strat Copy, 22 fret, 3 single coil pickups, whammy, two tone knobs and 5 position pickup selector switch.
		This guitar was the first electric I got, it has a Strat style body that is one of the most durable that i have seen(even though it is plywood).
		Later I built a mini guitar using the fretboard off of the strat neck, the majority of the guitar was made of Lowes plywood.

		Hi, I recently bought a pawn shop cheapy strat copy that I wanted to set up for slide playing, so I wouldn't have to be retuning my good axe, a Les Paul.
		Everything about this guitar looks like an authentic Fener Strat except, obviously for the headstock design and the more I play it, the more I want to set it up with some better hardware and tuners.

		So rather than buying a decent neck and having the problems of machining the body to fit it, I want to get around this by replacing them with the rail/blade-type pickup.
		Here you go - as you can see the bridge one is aligned ok but the other two are only lined up on the d and g strings.
		The guy in the shop told me that the original early 50's strats actually had different sized pickups to accomodate for this but then they switched to using all the same size to save money...

		After I get a new guitar at the end of the summer, I'm planning on doing some modding on my first guitar, a strat copy.
		It really plays fairly well, but the electronics are terrible and the frets have worn pretty bad.
		Actually, it doesn't have to be perfectly even, since most of the time you end up having to shim them anyway, but if it would make you feel better about the guitar in general, you could smooth that out a bit with a wood chisel.

		I am looking for a Strat with nothing in it (just the body and neck).
		The only thing that HAS TO BE on it is, looking at it standing up, 2 single coil holes on the top 2 pickup slots (bottom can have a humbucker hole).
