	Stratford, Wisconsin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Stratford is a village in Marathon County, Wisconsin, United States.
		Beginning in 1930, the Stratford Woman’s Club volunteered their time cataloging books and working in the library which was housed first in the Knights of Columbus Hall and later in the back of the post office.
		The Stratford Library joined the Marathon County Library in 1949, and in 1973 became became a branch of the newly formed Marathon County Public Library when the Wausau Public Library and Marathon County Library merged.

		Stratford began as a "company town", a direct result of the Connor Co. The Connors built the Connor Company Store and added a post office around 1891-92.
		By 1909, the population of Stratford was around 800; by now a school had been built, and a bank incorporated, with flsmith shops, Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist and Presbyterian churches.
		As a result of these economic signs of progress, Stratford was incorporated as a village on May 6, 1910.
