The history of Streetsboro is rooted in the 18th Century when Titus Street received a deed for the land that would later bear his name.
In 1968, the entire Township of Streetsboro was incorporated into a village to be governed by a Mayor-Council structure.
The Streetsboro Police Department operates under the City of Streetsboro Codified Ordinances, a formal Mission Statement, and a Policies and Procedures Manual (which includes a set of Rules and Regulations established by the Department), in compliance with the Ohio Revised Code.

Portage County is named for the portage between the Cuyahoga and Tuscarawas Rivers.
In the county, the population was spread out with 23.70% under the age of 18, 14.30% from 18 to 24, 28.60% from 25 to 44, 22.30% from 45 to 64, and 11.00% who were 65 years of age or older.
Portage County is arranged as a 4x5 grid of 20 rectanges: 18 unincorporated townships containing 9 cities and villages; and two incorporated townships which are fully occupied by one city each.

 Streetsboro, Ohio - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is formed from the former township of Streetsboro, which was formed from the Connecticut Western Reserve.
It is nearly co-extant with the former Streetsboro Township; the village of Sugar Bush Knolls, Ohio was also formed in part from a small portion of the former township.
Major growth occurred in Streetsboro with the opening of the Ohio Turnpike on October 1, 1955, with Exit 13 (now known as Exit 187) initially being the only interchange in Portage County.

The founder of Streetsboro Township was Titus Street from Connecticut, in 1798.
They moved to Streetsboro in 1822 where he built a log cabin in the southwest corner of Lot 82 for himself, his wife and their first child, Lucinda.
The first school in the township was taught in the summer of 1826 by Clarinda Case in the Northwest corner.
