Strider 2 isn't as difficult, long-lasting, or revolutionary for its time, but is a neat facelift to a popular game, and getting two games for the price of one isn't bad.

 Strider 2 Review
The original game was a 2D sidescroller with an emphasis on fast action and a limited amount of problem solving in the form of figuring out how to beat a certain boss or get from one place to the next.
But where Strider's levels were creatively designed and nice to look at, the sequel is dull, featuring the usual blocky scifi cityscapes and medieval castles, with one admittedly cool traffic-jumping sequence.
All of this aside, the single thing that makes Strider 2 my vote for coaster of the year is that the very first time I sat down to play it, I finished the game's five missions in less than 50 minutes.

The NES version of the game has always been considered to be superior to its arcade counterpart in almost every conceivable way and while it may not be an amazing display of graphical prowess, it is still one of the best NES games you'll ever play.

While Strider 2 is worthy of the legacy established back in '89, it offers little more than a tease of where future Strider's could go.
With few moves save for his slash, slide, and wall-climbing abilities (along with a super "boost" move that sends homing projectiles at his enemies), Strider gives new life to the term "simplicity." The control in Strider is ultraresponsive and as tight as you would expect and need in a game of this nature.
The other big draw with this package is the inclusion of the original Strider arcade game from 1989, which was stunning at the time for its innovative play mechanics, parallax effects, and up-tempo gameplay.

Some common games show up as very rare here because collectors don't want them (they are common because arcade operatos might be sitting on tons of them in warehouses), while some fairly scarce games are grabbed by collectors every time they show up.
Additionally, some games made in the last 5 years are still making money for operators and are thus not yet affordable to the typical collector.
