Of these two, there are several subfamilies grouped under them as well, and this would include subfamily Loriinae, Nestorinae, Strigopinae, Micropsittinae, Psittacinae, Platycercinae, Arinae and many tribes categorized under these.
Generally almost half of the parrots of the world are kept as pets.

It is the only member of the subfamily Strigopinae and is the only flightless parrot in the world.
