It is 12 km away from Kozarska Dubica, protected by the light and odour of hundred-years old linen trees, by holy relics, by monks and by the great-martyr and saint deacon Avakun who took his monk's vows in this monastery.
According to some sources and according to the Polabska theory on the origin of the Serbs, this monastery could have been built in 8 th century, at the same time when the St. George Monastery in Marine (meeting point of three Municipalities: Prijedor, Novi Grad and Kozarska Dubica) and the monastery in Strigova.
The legend has it that Mostanica Monastery dates back from 11 th century.

Its sections are part of an historical line that had for centuries separated Croatia from the Slovene lands of Carniola (Kranjska) and Styria (Stajerska).

Came from Strigova, however, I have no further info except they either owned or worked in the vineyards.
A son Ludwig stayed in country and did not immagrate.
