		Stroke 9 is a band that was formed in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1989.
		Stroke 9 had their first "official" live performance at Cafe Nuvo in San Anselmo.
		The Modern Era of Stroke 9 truly began in April of 1997 when the band asked Eric Stock to fill in on drums.

		Unfortunately, as with all good things in life, there came an end to the dream as Stroke 9 and Universal Records parted ways in 2003.
		For newcomers to Stroke 9, “All In” is not their best overall release, lacking in style and, despite the creative freedom shown on the record, freshness, although admirers of such artists as Vertical Horizon, Eve 6, Collective Soul, and even Beck should find this record appealing.
		In the end, Stroke 9’s music career seems to have come full circle, returning the band to their original indie roots.

		Stroke 9 was a band that took 10 years to become an "overnight success." The group formed back in 1990 as part of a high school class.
		By the mid '90s the band was a full time job and Stroke 9 released a couple of CDs on their own label.
		They signed with Universal and released their breakthrough album Nasty Little Thoughts that launched the hit single "Little Black Backpack." Their 2002 album Rip It Off didn't do as well and Stroke 9 parted ways with the label.
