It has been extremely difficult trying to find a US license partner for Stromkern as well as the other acts on Kodex - I guess it reminds me why I went to Europe for a record deal in the first place.
There's just very little interest here for projects that don't fit neatly into a certain genre, which is how I see most of the Kodex bands - La Floa Maldita Still Silent, or even Erblast, they all sort of exist in-between styles.
One of my major influences is hip-hop, in fact it's the only style of music I really pay a lot of attention to anymore, and that track shows more of that influence - which I've been trying to work in - than any other track I'd done at that point.

One of the most talented Madison groups in any genre, Stromkern are known from L.A. to Frankfurt as one of the most creative voices in electro-industrial music today.
Among those doing the actual remixing tasks at Stromkern's behest are such widely renowned players as Germany's Haujobb and New Orleans' cut.rate.box, whose heavily synthesized mix of "Re-align" takes advantage of a vocoder effect that mutates singer J. Ned Kirby's voice into unrecognizable forms.
But as a whole, the EP should help the band keep their name in ever-widening circulation and draw more listeners to the remarkable Armageddon.

 Stromkern
American EBM (Electronic Body Music) acts have a tendency to travel incognito by Deutschifying everything (which leads the equally rare American EBM critic to suddenly lapse into stretches of stilted German).
But despite Stromkern's ominously European-sounding name and their tremendous popularity on the German alternative charts, the Madison, Wis.-based band has taken the Euro-dominated techno-industrial genre and infused it with a healthy dose of hip-hop.
The results -- on their current release, Armageddon (WTII) -- are surprisingly alive and organic, taking the usual sterile march and kicking it into a playful shuffle and eschewing the highly quantized plug 'n' play compositional structure of most EBM works in favor of rich, classically influenced orchestration.
