PHP - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
PHP's ease of use and similarity with the most common structured programming languages—most notably C and Perl (and from version 5, Java)—allows most experienced programmers to start developing complex applications with minimal learning.
PHP was originally designed as a small set of Perl scripts, followed by a rewritten set of CGI binaries written in C by the Danish-Canadian programmer Rasmus Lerdorf in 1994 to display his résumé and to collect certain data, such as how much traffic his page was receiving.
PHP does not enforce the declaration of variables, and variables that have not been initialized can have operations (such as concatenation) performed on them; however, an operation on an uninitialized variable does raise an E_NOTICE level error, errors that are hidden by default.

 TextWikiProposal.wiki.txt
Because Wiki content is entered as plain text in a web environment, Wikis do not generally use HTML for rich text markup; instead, they use structured text to mark the elements of a page.
This means that if you want Wiki implementation "A" to support a rule or behavior from Wiki implementation "B", it becomes difficult or impossible, because the different implementations use different parsing and rendering routines that apply their rule structures in different ways.
For example, bold text might be enclosed in a paired sets of three single quotes, teletype text is set off my matched pairs of 2 curly braces, lists are noted by starting the like with a hash or a star, and so on.

 Lojban Wiki : game
''kelci'' (x1 plays with x2) can be used for any unstructured or structured, pretending-activity; while these words emphasize the rulebound nature of games.
keirterjva (x1 is a game in which (moves?) x2 are prescribed by rules x3) is an abstract game, as chess is a game and volleyball is another game.
A game as in "the chess players played two games" is keirterjvi.

 Life With Alacrity
JotSpot appears to be not only an advanced wiki, but it also moves the predominantly text-based wiki toward being able to handle structured data and web application development.
Wiki was invented in 1995, but I don't see it, or any of the subsequent wikis defining themselves as social software for a number of years.
Wiki Editing Dichotomy -- One interesting possible barrier of entry to active participation in a wiki is what I call the "wiki editing dichotomy".

 freshmeat.net: Project details for Text_Wiki
The Text_Wiki package allows you to transform text structured using Wiki rules into any defined target output format.
The freelink rule was patched for proper knowledge of which pages exist in the wiki, and was added back into the default rule set.
For example, you can convert Tavi-style Wiki text into XHTML, original C2-style Wiki text into XML, MeatBall style Wiki text into LaTeX, or any other Wiki markup rules into any other format (provided it's programmed properly).

Talk:Homestar Runner - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
By looking through the Homestar Runner Wiki, which has a great amount of Homestar Runner fans, and rarely saw when Strong Bad was listed as a favorite character.
This article was partially (and poorly) replicated on the Homestar Runner Wiki, so I changed that wiki's page to a redirect to this one.
Although I do think a lot of information should be centrally kept on HRWiki, this "encylopedic overview" should do its best to give a NPOV understanding of Homestar Runner and its significance as an internet phenomenon, and then redirect people back towards the HRWiki for less generally-relevant "fanstuff" (like Eh!

 PEAR :: Package :: Text_Wiki
Abstracts parsing and rendering rules for any markup as Wiki or BBCode in structured plain text.
The text transformation is done in 2 steps, the parsers use rules to tokenize the content, renderers ouput the tokens and left text in the requested format.

In light of the Relevanta product we recently released, it's interesting to note that we have spawned a new generation "wiki" of sorts as well.
For some time I have been observing and commenting on the merits of different collabication (collaboration-communication) mediums including blogs, wikis, IM, e-mail and the like.

TWiki, an open source project, is a structured wiki written in Perl.
TWiki uses wiki text-markup codes rather than WYSIWYG editing, although there are hints on the edit forms to assist newcomers with formatting.
TWiki’s functions include automatic links to other Web pages, full text search, e-mail notification when content changes, and the ability to upload (and download) any file as an attachment.

We envision Text Formatting options as complete, encapsulated formatters, handling both the formatting of structured text and any desired typographical details (smart quotes, etc), analogous to the way in which Textile handles quote education and its own miniature formatting language.
Or, rather, the current "Convert Line Breaks" will simply be one of the available text formatting options, along with (hopefully) many other options, from POD to XML to Wiki.

Simon Willison: A myriad of markup systems
I chose Restructured Text for the wiki I'm working on because it has some real advantages when writing about code -- especially since it is usable in non-wiki environments as well (e.g., in Python docstrings, extracted with epydoc), and as a text-based markup language it integrates with my text-based programs and text-based programming environments (Emacs).
It's a structured markup language in a bookmarklet: activate the bookmarklet to convert the text in any textarea on a page to XHTML.
I've built my own text markup system and what I've done to solve improperly nested markup is to implement a recursive algorithm, using regular expressions, in a simple loop (with a FIFO buffer).

Juju - Personal/Collaborative Knowledge Management Engine
Juju draws its inspiration from many sources, most notably: Wiki, Semantic Web, RCS (Revision Control System), CVS (Concurrent Version System), Blogging Systems (such as Blogger, Livejournal, and MovableType), SQL (Structured Query Language), and THE/Archy (www.raskincenter.org).
So simply put, Juju aims at solving the "too-many information silos" problem by providing a simple Wiki-like database engine with powerful querying and summarization functions, to bring the data to life in a way that is useful for casual users and extraordinarily powerful for people who want to take the simple framework to the limit.
I created Juju initially as a personal information manager, out of the desire to house the many varied bits and pieces of data that I come across every day in a single data environment.

 CategoryTheory/Functor - The Haskell Wiki
The starting point of Category Theory is the premise that every kind of mathematically structured object comes equipped with a notion of "acceptable" transformation or construction, that is, a morphism that preserves the structure of the object.
Two (covariant) functors F: A → B and G: B → C can be composed to create a new functor GF: A → C.
This premise holds for categories themselves: a functor is the "natural" notion of morphisms between categories.

If you are interested in coding standards you may also be interested in Code Review Standards I have created at http://www.possibility.com/epowiki/Wiki.jsp?page=CodeReviews.
Class users need class interface information which when structured correctly can be extracted directly from a header file.
The problem is if we consider a header file an interface to a service then we can have a C interface to a service and C++ interface to the service in the same file.
