 Enlistment Bar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Marine Corps issued enlistment bars for subsequent awards of the Good Conduct Medal, with the front of the bar displaying the number of the subsequent enlistment and the reverse of the bar displaying the dates of the enlistment for which the Good Conduct Medal was authorized.
During the Second World War, the Coast Guard followed suite with the Navy and began issuing enlistment bars engraved with the number of a subsequent Good Conduct award.
In 1931, the enlistment bar was revamped to display, on the front side only, the sailor’s date of discharge for the period of Good Conduct service.

In 1990 she won a Certificate of Merit from the American Bar Association Gavel Awards for her stories on justice for the mentally ill. She was also part of the staff receiving the 2001 Florida Press Club President's Special Award for Election Coverage for the 2000 presidential election.
She broke the story of the William Kennedy Smith rape charge and covered the subsequent trial for which she earned the 1991 Green Eye Shade Award from Sigma Delta Chi and first place for excellence in news writing in 1992 from the Florida Press Club.
In 1994 he won the Associated Press Managing Editors' National Public Service Award (for newspapers with a circulation of more than 250,000), second place for investigative reporting in the National Headliner Awards and was a finalist for the Heywood Broun Award and in the IRE contest (an honor he also received in 1997).

National Awards - Aishwarya And Shah Rukh, Victims Of Last Minute Manipulations Ever since Raveena Tandon got the National award for best actress in 'Daman' (with her uncle McMohan 'Sambha' being a member of the jury, an announcement that provoked three members of the jury to quit), every subsequent year has seen further deterioration.
When Chandni Bar had won the National award, I was thrilled.
But ironically its the 52nd National awards (2005) which seems to have taken the cake as the best actor and actress awards seem to have been changed at the last minute.

In 1971 he was posthumously awarded a special Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, and after the controversy of his death had subsided, Laguna Park - the site of the 1970 rally and subsequent police action - was renamed Salazar Park in his honour.
