20th WCP: Principles for Cognizing the Sacred
The substratum approach is based on the spontaneous conviction of the fact that every action has some «actor», an acting object, a sensible object, while the «functional» approach, appearing in the early philosophical systems, is based on the conviction of the existence of particular invisible objects must be cognized through the mind, not through feelings.
Substratum (or subject) is any object (total combination of matter and shape), so far as it is the base of our language or subject matter; in so far as it is the basis for the sensible comprehension of an object or shape, and the basis for a mental comprehension of the object.
Substratum and functional views are not denied at all, but they become the means for reaching the unity in terms of their fullness and mutual dependence.

Encyclopedia of Energy Science...theory of everything, string, superstring, substratum, relativity, space, wavicle, ...
Presently the word substratum is used for this background entity that light travels in relation to instead of aether.
More recently the earth's rotation through the substratum has been detected by sending radio (light) wavicles in opposite directions around the world near the equator by means of GPS satellites.
If the substratum has very small entities, then energy wavicles and force fields could have a uniform speed by jumping from one entity to another or by traveling in relation to these entities.

It is desirable that as much sclerotia be produced within the substratum as is possible during this stage because there appears to be a direct relationship between the amount of sclerotia in the substratum and the total weight of ascocarps that develop per unit area of the substratum.
Better results, however, are obtained if the sclerotia are maintained in the substratum and their mycelia allowed to colonize the substratum for about 7 days under conditions similar to conditions during that period in the first variation when the sclerotia are maintained in the nutrient-poor substratum but before water is percolated through the substratum.

 substrata
The exemplification of a property by a concrete particular is analyzed in terms of the inherence of that property in the substratum of that particular.
He discusses those substratum theorists who think that a difference in substrata is what accounts for the difference in concrete substances, and who thereby speak of many distinct substrata, each belonging to a concrete particular.
The other substratum view does not treat the substratum of a concrete particular as an indvidual entity that is itself a “part” or “constituent” of that particular alongside other constituents.

Concrete overlay construction - Patent 4339289
Crack and wear resistant concrete overlays for renovation or patching of deteriorated sections over a substratum can be made by incorporating 4-12 volume percent steel fibers in the concrete overlay and bonding at least a portion of the fibers directly to the substratum.
It is particularly an object to provide such methods for overlayment wherein the fiber reinforcement is directly bonded to the underlying substratum, thus also joining the concrete overlay through the reinforcement to the substratum for increased stability of the overlay.
In general, the invention is useful in new construction as a thin overlay to heavy wear areas, such as industrial floors, bridge decks, airport runways, dam spillways, or as a renovation or patching layer for deteriorated construction and building surfaces.

This can be extended to the cases where one of the frames moves at low speed with respect to the Cosmic Substratum.

In contrast to motile cells, in growth cones, retrograde flow relative to the substratum has been mostly studied for individual types of cell-associated material crossing both the lamellipodium (thick arrow to left) and lamella (dashed thick arrow to left), and recently, mostly in Aplysia bag cell neurons.
Retrograde flow of actin filaments relative to the substratum in lamellipodia has often been proposed to play some role in cell motility, although retrograde movement is not immediately reconcilable with net forward displacement of either leading edge structures (protrusion), or the cell body (cell body motility).
Another direction for the future is to determine how retrograde flow relative to the substratum in lamellipodia is coordinated with that in the lamella and cell body of the same motile cell.
