While Suda's floral subject matter is not exactly new, and the technique of polychrome on wood is an ancient one, his particular innovation lies in the subtle placement of these works and in the gentle reactions they elicit in the observer.
Suda is not content only to create impressive objects; he has also made them the focus of a philosophically suggestive installation art.
Suda has taken the opposite tack, placing them on the floor near the gallery's front windows, with the leaf near some real leaves from which it is indistinguishable.

 F-M Potatoes, Inc. v. Suda, 259 N.W.2d 487 (N.D. 1977)
Suda admitted there was an oral contract for the storage of his potatoes, but he denied any financial obligation to F-M for the storage, and he counterclaimed against F-M for damages for FM's negligent storage of his potatoes, causing their deterioration and rendering them unmarketable.
Suda has been a farmer since 1959 and, in 1974, he farmed approximately 1600 acres, of which he planted 425 acres to potatoes and the balance he seeded to small grains.
Suda entered into an oral agreement with John Ferguson, the president and principal stockholder of F-M, for the conditioned storage of Suda's potatoes with F-M. The storage agreement, which is not in dispute, provided for a storage rental price of 400 per cwt, to February 1,1975, and an additional 100 per cwt.

 Galerie Wohnmaschine - 18.09. Y.Suda
For this presentation at Wohnmaschine Suda has installed two new works: a broken twig with some scattered leaves in the first exhibition room and a rose in the corridor.
For Suda, meaning is not conveyed by the objects per se; his work is truly activated only in relationship to its surroundings.
In the context of recent Japanese art, Suda´s highly skilled handwork — as well as his studied involvement with seemingly traditional materials, methods, and subject matter — stand in sharp contrast to prevailing investigations of youth-oriented popular culture.

Suda (Σουδα or alternatively Suidas) is a massive 10th century Byzantine Greek historical encyclopedia of the ancient Mediterranean world.
Under the heading "Adam" the author of the lexicon (which a prefatory note states to be "by Suidas") gives a brief chronology of the world, ending with the death of the emperor John Zimisces (975), and under Constantinople his successors Basil II and Constantine VIII are mentioned.
The Suda was critically edited by the Danish scholar Ada Adler (Leipzig, 1928-1938).

 languagehat.com: SUDA/SUIDAS.
The Suda was compiled probably in the latter half of the tenth century and certainly no later than 1000 CE, but its exact date is unknown, as is the identity of its compiler or compilers.
The Suda's more than thirty thousand entries of names, terms, and phrases are arranged in simple alphabetical order, so that grammatical points and philosophical concepts intermingle with biographies of ancient authors and quotations from ancient texts.
According to N. Wilson, the Suda represents a "significant stage in the evolution of this type of reference book," since it "incorporates a mass of articles that are intended to be informative rather than lexicographical, and the result is a cross between a dictionary and an encyclopedia..."

Suda points out that there are four major currents of thought which have had to share center stage.
Where Western liberals, Suda claims, have no faith whatsoever—only suspicion of any and all kinds of socialist theories and programs—liberals in the East tend to see some value in the theories and possibilities of certain programs, believing that it was the Soviet-style totalitarian form of socialism that was wrong.
Suda and Musil might have been better off getting a conservative, a socialist, a romantic or any of the other adherents of "isms" to put together this collection for them.

The Primary Sources for the Life and Work of Hypatia of Alexandria
The name Suda is now seen as deriving from the Greek word for "fortress" and so the work advertised itself as a "stronghold of knowledge", so to speak.
The Suda of course predates the invention of the printing press and thus began its life (as did all the other primary sources) in manuscript form.
The Suda article was not itself an original production, but in its turn relied on at least two earlier works.
