		One more thing I should mention about summercamp this year is the rock band who came to play on the Saturday at the end of the first week.
		The Sufi guru talked for a long time at the Kneipe and was very entertaining.
		But since I was staying in the Zegg hotel, where the Sufis had been given accomodation, I was able to discover that following their three-hour 5 AM meditation, they went to bed again.

		That's the story of Junoon, the Pakistani sufi rock band that has become a top act in the sub-continent.
		A rock band is, of course, only as good as its last chart-topper.

		The old art of Qawwali and Rock and Roll sharing the same stage produced a moment that would have made the Sufi musicians of South Asia proud as some in the Stanford audience by now were close to “haal” (ecstasy).
		Salman gave it his Rock addition, a New York meets Pakistan version as those hangers that had thus far refused to dance were also seen swaying to this music, including many that did not understand the words.
