Sukhbaatar, alarmed at the move, is convinced by the military and his Foreign Minister, Dogsomyn Bodoo, that establishing a united front with Tibet and the Uighurs of Sinkiang might dissuade any outside aggression.
Sukhbaatar argues that before 1921, the Mongolians were victims of Chinese imperialism and they continued to try to reconquer his country off and on during the 20s.
Sukhbaatar and Roosevelt also reach an agreement in which the US Army will be able to establish airfields in Korea to bomb Japan and Japanese positions in China from once the peninsula is secured by Mongolian forces.

The square was named after Damdiny Sukhbaatar, "the revolution hero" who declared Mongolia's independence from China here in 1921.

Khaliun, granddaughter of Choibalsan, also gave written permission for the cremation of Choibalsan and requested that one part of the ashes be kept in Altan-Olgii burial ground and the other be taken to the area where Choibalsan was born.

We entered at Atlanbulag near Kyakhta in Russia and Sukhbaatar in Mongolia, and left by Zamyn Uud for Erlian in China.
