Spaceship Model -- Recommendations and Resources   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-25)
The speed of a spaceship is often expressed in terms of ''c'', the "speed of light", one cell per generation, which in many cellular automata is the fastest that an effect can spread.
A tagalong is a pattern that is not a spaceship in itself but that can be attached to the back of a spaceship to form a larger spaceship.
A pattern that, when a spaceship is input, outputs a copy of the spaceship travelling in a different direction is called a reflector.

 SIMCOSMOS - Orbiter - ALIEN2 - Sulaco
Sulaco is a military vessel and it's able to carry armament and other vehicles not seen in ALIENS movie.
The only numbers I was able to find were a) that Sulaco's length was over 385 meters (ACMTM) and b) that lateral loading cargo doors, in the foremost section of the hull, had 25x10m each.
I'm mainly using Sulaco's dropship bay (and lateral cargo doors) and it's comparison to the more consensual dimensions of the dropship itself to resize the whole Sulaco.

well, for the shader, your model look a little bit too "plastic" to be a spaceship, and to add more details, you don't need to model everything in the same "piece": you can model a part and "add-it" after to your main model,
