It is not really on the way to Bharatpur and Agra but it is possible to combine a visit to Sultanpur NP in the morning with the drive to Bharatpur (5 hours from Sultanpur NP) in the afternoon.
Notes: Sultanpur NP was our first stop in India, consequently it took some time to get used to the common birds of India and it was hard to separate goodies from the normal birds.
Sultanpur NP still had good amounts of water and if we'd known by then that Keoladeo NP had already dried out we might have taken more time to scan the area for water birds.
