  Settlement Agreement - Between The United States of America and Summers County, West Virginia
The County recognizes that the majority of the facilities that it uses to hold County elections are not readily accessible to and usable by persons with mobility impairments.
The County agrees to provide the option of mail ballots or absentee ballots to persons with disabilities, in accordance with West Virginia law, provided that the ballots are accepted up to and including the day of the election.
The County will not place a surcharge on a particular individual with a disability or any group of individuals with disabilities to cover the cost of providing auxiliary aids/services or reasonable modifications of policy, such as retrieving items from locations that are open to the public but are not accessible to persons who use wheelchairs.

He was a member of the Virginia Constitutional Convention of 1850, ran for the Governorship of Virginia in 1850 but lost to Joseph Johnson, and was then elected Judge of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit of Virginia, serving from 1852 to 1858.
The county court house was constructed in Hinton in 1876 and occupied by the county court in 1877.

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (WVDHHR) developed this health consultation to determine whether exposures are occurring to potential groundwater contamination at the Hinton Landfill in Summers County, West Virginia.
Ground water in Summers County is derived from precipitation and occurs mainly in fractures in the sedimentary rocks and in alluvium along rivers and creeks.
