Ski areas across the Cascade Range were boosted by the season's first substantial snowfall Tuesday and Wednesday -- the Summit received 24 inches of new snow in those 48 hours and Stevens more than 20.
Operators of White Pass ski area said yesterday they would likely open tomorrow as well, but were waiting to make a final decision because of a warming trend in the weather forecast for today.
They'll be the third and fourth ski areas in Washington's Cascades to announce their season openings.
