		Sunburn, the band's second record, exudes youthfulness and charm, a gaiety of spirit that despite, or perhaps because of, its occasional lapses into amateurishness, is all but irresistible.
		When she breathlessly sings about being in full crush on the album's best song, "Out There," she is convincingly vulnerable – appealing, strong and shy all at once.
		The highlights on it are much better than anything on the earlier album, but the entire second side (with the exception of the marvelous song "Train," which, weirdly, quotes from both Presley's "Mystery Train" and Modern English's "I Melt With You") wanders along a meandering path.

		Fuel's platinum debut album, Sunburn, blends hard rock melody with powerful lyrics in an excellent album.
		The band switches from unstable, chaotic songs such as "Mary Pretends", "Ozone", and their untitled track, to softer, more reflective songs such as "Sunburn" and "Shimmer".
		The melodies and the riffs are noteworthy, and hard power chords are great in songs like "Jesus or a Gun." This album deserves 5 stars, and a place in everyone's collection.

		For all their Big Rock angst and sonic terrorism, though, they never lose sight of the pop verities; a catchy chorus and a more-or-less hummable melody.
		SUNBURN should fare well among those who like a little edge to their alt-rock and those who like their headbanging leavened by a pinch of sugar.
		They nailed it on this first album and should've stuck with this sound but strayed off into something that isn't as electric and wild.

	CONCERT REVIEW: Fuel -- On Fire
		Hot on the heels of their platinum debut album, Sunburn, rock band Fuel (Brett Scallions, lead vocals, guitar; Carl Bell, guitar, vocals, primary songwriter; Jeff Abercrombie, bass; Kevin Miller, drums) is climbing the charts in the alternative rock scene with their new release, Something Like Human, which arrived in stores on September 19.
