Dick and Dom in da Bungalow - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The first two series were broadcast on the CBBC Channel in 2002/3, with each programme lasting three hours (9am to 12pm, and repeated later the same day, 1pm to 4pm).
Prior to Sunday's editions being recorded one notable event was a fire alarm which went off during a cartoon, resulting in an extra cartoon having to be played out by CBBC before they could return to the bungalow to finish the show.
The Saturday edition remained two hours long on both BBC One and the CBBC Channel; however, the Sunday edition was cut to one hour on the CBBC Channel.

The use of race in the series has been facilitated and hampered by several factors: executive decisions in the television networks, by the limits of the sci-fi genre itself, by "intertextuality," and by the audience and fans.
The original television series "...didn't boldly go anywhere in covering racial stereotypes" according to Professor Bernardi, partly due to the entrenched racial and gender attitudes of network executives during the show's tenure (1966 - 69).
Bernardi views the television series and films as a "liberal humanism" and as a mirror reflecting America's struggle to overcome prejudice, militarism, civil rights inequities, and rapid technological change.

NPR : Analysis : Controversial TV Series Airing On Egyptian Television During The Month Of Ramadan
In Egypt, a major television series has been produced for the occasion, but the drama called "Horseman Without A Horse" has drawn international criticism for incorporating ideas from a notorious anti-Semitic forgery.
But what's garnered the series worldwide attention and blistering criticism from Israel, Jewish groups and the Bush administration is the writer's decision to modify the story by including ideas from the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion," a discredited Russian forgery that purports to reveal a secret Jewish plot to take over the world.
The uproar over the serial has had the effect of generating enormous free publicity for the show, something that Professor Mohammad Kamal suspects was not unintentional on the part of Sobhi and Dream TV, the private Egyptian channel that developed the project.

Fox has the best animated series on television in "The Simpsons," a show that easily still holds that title as it airs its 350th and 351st episodes on Sunday night.
It's not overstating to say that "The Simpsons," which debuted in January 1989, is the greatest animated series in the history of television.
At which point I'm always reminded of what the series' creator, Matt Groening, said when his series "Futurama" launched in 1999 —; that "The Simpsons" would still be in production 1,000 years from now "but the fans on the Internet are complaining that the last 500 years aren't as good as the first 500 years."

For the most part, the longevity of a television series is a true sign of success and popularity...but not always.
Despite the massive U.S.$1 million budget per episode for the series, the show's creators couldn't continue to create such a major program with the hectic pace of shooting and the continual reuse of stock footage, and at the end of the 21 episode Season 1 run, the show was abruptly cut short.
