Comic strip - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sunday strips are much larger and are usually in color.
Some comic strips, such as Doonesbury and Boondocks, are often printed on the editorial or op-ed page rather than the comics page, because of their regular political commentary.
Webcomics differ from published comic strips, in that anyone can start his own comic strip and publish it on the Web; there is no longer any need to for a creator to meet the approval of a publisher or syndicate.

The Sunday strips were usually the cartoons I had the most fun with, and for this show I've chosen a few Sunday strips from each year that I think show off the strip's strengths.
One strip might call for contrasting, bright colors; another strip might be done with a limited group of soft, warm colors; another idea might call for a close range of grays and darks, and so on.
I had given the strip all my time and energy for a decade (and was happy to do so), but now I was that much older and I wanted to work at a more thoughtful pace, out of the limelight, and without the pressures and restrictions of newspapers.

 Krazy Kat
Krazy Kat was a comic strip created by George Herriman, appearing in both weekday and Sunday US newspapers published by William Randolph Hearst.
Krazy's dialogue was a highly stylized argot ("A fowl konspirissy—is it pussible?"), and the strip's descriptive passages mix whimsical language with a poetic sensibility.
It was also praised by intellectuals and critics, most notably Gilbert Seldes, who wrote a lengthy panegyric in The New Yorker calling the strip "the most satisfying work of art...in America today." In the 1920s, a stage musical based on Krazy Kat was even produced.
