Gavaskar is perhaps the only batsman to have played a significant role in the 4th inns when India won, drew and tied a test match.
Gavaskar's deeds on the cricket field gained him a lot of respect from his fellow cricketers and fans and he was almost a demi god.
Sunil Gavaskar's days as a cricketer are over but his son Rohan has since carried on the Gavaskar legacy and unlike his father the younger Gavaskar is a South Paw and he plays domestic cricket for Bengal.
