		In 1921 the Sunnyside School District was annexed to what was then known as the Chula Vista Union School District and the children who lived in the area began attending the F Street School in Chula Vista.
		The schoolhouse was relocated to F Street and served as a classroom and later became a storage facility.
		Sunnyside School is one of 33 schools in the Chula Vista Elementary School District which is located in the extreme southern section of San Diego County and is the largest elementary school district in California.

		Known as Georgia’s Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Spalding was born at Frederica (on St. Simon’s Island, Georgia) on March 25, 1774.
		His ancestors were from the Highlands of Scotland, and were among the band of hardy warriors which Oglethorpe brought to Georgia to form a bulwark for the New Colony against the Spaniards in Florida.
