Sunrise Over Sea is the fourth album for The John Butler Trio and the fifth featuring John Butler released in March 2004.
The title "Sunrise Over Sea" is probably a reference to his home in Byron Bay which is one of the most easterly points in Australia and therefore one of the first points to see the sunrise.
Recent editions of the album have included the bonus track Something's Gotta Give, which was released as an EP in 2004.

The coming year should be no different with the release of their highly anticipated new studio album, ‘Sunrise Over Sea’, due out on Jarrah Records on March 8.
