And also, I selected high schools that would have a student population of, at least a good part of it, that might be similar to a private school population.
I suppose the most logical would be each time the School Board votes on or validates our contracts, and the terms of our contracts, and it is hard for me to be specific but there are certainly terms in our bargaining agreement that affect my work life as far as staffing is concerned.
It was called ranking and we basically take every staff member, if you had 100 staff members in a school, the top 6 got early tenure and even if they weren't three year teachers or in their fourth contract, and the bottom 16% would either be placed on probation or dismissed.

Sunset High School is in fact in Portland, and has a Portland address, despite the fact that it is in the Beaverton School District.
Between that and the fact Sunset is in the Beaverton School District, I was pretty confident in the decision to relocate.
You might say the school is in the "transition area" between Beaverton and Portland, but since it is officially in Portland (and this is a factual reference), I think it is most appropriate in Portland.

Sunset High School has a strong student support group program which has been an integral part of the school for some years.
Our rationale for having such a program is that when students have challenges or distractions in their lives, it makes it difficult for them to perform, or perform effectively, in school.
