		Super Mario Kart is the first video game in the Mario Kart series, released in 1992 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
		In the original Super Mario Kart there is a way to 'launch' and reach top speed almost immediately by holding the engine speed between medium and high.
		Mario Kart DS uses a similar HUD system to that seen in Super Mario Kart, with the race screen on the top and the map on the bottom screen, albeit without the rear-view mirror.
