Super Nintendo Entertainment System - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Super Nintendo Entertainment System, also known as Super Nintendo, Super NES or SNES, is a 16-bit video game console released by Nintendo in North America, Brazil, Europe, and Australia.
Nintendo would never achieve market leadership in the PAL region, and did not manage to do so in the U.S. until 1994, benefiting from Sega's pulling out of the market and its continued production of SNES and its games well after the 32-bit era of gaming had started.
Nintendo took the same stance against the distribution of SNES ROM image files and emulation as it did with the NES, insisting that they represented flagrant software piracy.

Nintendo has the reputation of historically being both the oldest intact company in the video game console market and one of the most influential and well-known console manufacturers, as well as being the most dominant entity in the handheld console market.
Nintendo decided that to avoid facing the same problems, they would only allow games that received their "Seal of Quality" to be sold for the Famicom, using a chip called 10NES to "lockout" or prevent unlicensed games from working.

 What is SNES?
Nintendo had to think of a billion ways to encourage the consumers to go with their 16 bit Super Nintendo and not with their competitor Sega, and with their great and amazing, but in my opinion surely not as good as Super Nintendo, product called Sega Genesis (MegaDrive in Europe).
The differences were little in those games between the Super Nintendo and the Genesis versions, but for the hard core sports gamers it was very annoying if they bought a Super Nintendo just to play sports games and found out that Genesis with the overall weaker hardware had better versions of them.
In the late 1997, Nintendo released a redesigned version of the Super Nintendo which is lighter and smaller than the classic model.

The Super Scope is amazingly accurate, and since it's wireless, you can be as far as 24' from the TV screen.
When you push the fire button on the Super Scope, it looks to see where the scan is, and compares that to where the scan should appear if the scope was pointed directly at the center of the screen.
The Super Scope can be used by either right or left handed people by switching the scope location from one side to the other.

Mario 64, the prime product for the commercial maiden voyage of the Nintendo 64, puts the player into the magical world of Mario (where the streets are paved with gold stars) as never before.
As a side note: A nice gameplay touch is the thoughtful use of the versatile Nintendo gamepad.
If Mario 64 is even a rough indication of what's to be expected from Nintendo, or from games in general, then we just might have a revolution of sorts in our very hands.

Although the NES would continue to dominate the video game industry for years to come, Nintendo's hardware was beginning to show its age, and though Nintendo executives initially showed little interest in developing a new system, Sega and NEC's growing market share soon forced Nintendo to reconsider.
Nine months later, on August 13, 1991, Nintendo released the Super Famicom in North America with a new redesigned case as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

Compare Prices and Read Reviews on Super Godzilla for Super Nintendo at Epinions.com
The worst thing about Super Godzilla is that it doesn't just squander Godzilla himself, but a nice cast of supporting monsters, consisting of his foes from the 80s/90s Heisei era movies, although not in any order.
What makes it also clear that the film almost saw the light, is that Super Godzilla is basically the design used for Space Godzilla in what would be 1994's series entry, Godzilla Vs. Spacegodzilla.
While I can appreciate that Super Godzilla does try hard to be unique, and in that respect it succeeds, unique does not always equal fun or entertaining, things that this game could certainly have used a lot more work in the way of achieving.

Whereas I become bored playing most current games for more than a few repetitions - games like Mario Kart and Super Mario Brothers IV are staples of great gaming, can be played time and time again, and were the foundation for most of the classics that are still played by serious gamers.

The reason the Super Nintendo is one of the greatest systems of all time is because back when it was made, games relied on gameplay and not graphics to sell.
