Street Fighter II: Turbo was Capcom's answer to the many bootleg Street Fighter II arcade games that were popping up at the time due to so many complaints from players that the original Street Fighter II was too slow.
While many Street Fighter II fans were licking their chops at the prospect of a Street Fighter III, they scooped this upgrade up with almost the same furvur as they did the original Super NES hit.
Street Fighter II revolutionized the way fighting games would be from then on and has been copied in some form or another in just about every fighting game since.

Super Combos are powerful attacks that hit your opponent with a string of kicks, punches or uppercuts, etc. You must fill the gauge at the bottom of the screen by attacking your opponent before you can perform a Super Combo.
In the original Street Fighter game Adon is the first character whose stage (Thailand) was unselectable from the start of the game, and therefore was regarded as the penultimate "Boss".

The speed was also ramped up from the previous Super Street Fighter II with the 3DO handling all of these features with no problem whatsoever.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo continues where SSF2 left off and adds the greatly needed Super bar, which surprisingly never altered combat very much in my opinion.
Probably due to the fact that the super meter had only one level, charged slowly, reset after each round, and that landing a super move to get maximum damage (or even worthwhile damage) required far more precision than, say, the more forgiving Versus games that would come later on.
After more or less skipping SSF2, I was happy to return to this final version of Street Fighter II and eagerly awaited the home version which never came to be.

Street Fighter was one of the first games I ever loved in an arcade.
What made Street Fighter a piece of history for me was that I spent three or four Friday nights shortly after the release of Street Fighter 2 Turbo at a Putt-Putt that a friend happened to be the night manager of.
There are a few extra modes, like survival and Time attack, but the biggest feature of any Street Fighter game is the ability to beat the hell out of a friend.
