  Superboy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the early 1970s, the Superboy writing staff decided to "update" Superboy by setting his book on a "floating timeline," taking place perpetually 15 years or so behind whatever the then-current year was; this resulted in the 1970s stories featuring Superboy being set in the 1950s.
Superboy had a romance with fellow Young Justice and Teen Titans member Wonder Girl (Cassandra Sandsmark), that resulted in a night of love-making in the Kent Family barn before he flew off to participate in one of the final battles of Infinite Crisis.
Superboy is currently the subject of a legal battle between Time/Warner, the owner of DC Comics and the estate of Jerry Siegel.

In "Rebirth", Superboy is confronted with the possibility that he may have accidentally taken a human life, and gives up his life as Superboy in guilt.

Superboy didn't think of himself as "Superman" until he first when to college and one of his professors tried to prove that Clark Kent and Superboy were one and the same by wiring young Clark to a lie detector.
Superboy was also the inspiration for the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 30th Century.

Superboy is warned of Verrel's intent by Tommy Puck (Bill Mumy [Lost In Space]), once an evil criminal who had developed the technology Verrel is using, but had a change of heart since contracting a fatal disease after volunteering for a medical experiment in jail.
Superboy just manages to escape the three villains as they approach him for the final kill but, unable to counteract the effects of the sound machine Luthor has built, he goes to Smallville to find a way around it.
Superboy himself comes to believe in the curse and, when he arrives in the nick of time to save Lana who's been kidnapped by Carmichael, is unable to act.

Superboy would just boss Robin around, which he needs, but not until he's completely grown in to leader status, and I think Troia would seem too much like Starfire's character for awhile, and the last thing needed is another Starfire.

Superboy is rudundant when you look at JLU, Impulse would fill the Flash void JLU has so blatantly created.

I remember one episode where Superboy was confronted by him and Superboys said "Oh look, a Kltplzyxm!" and Mxyzlptlk replies "A Kltplzyxm?" and having said him name backwards, returns to his own dimension.
This show was alright but the first episode with the Bizarro Superboy had me in stitches.
Anyways, John Newton's portrayal of Superboy was definitely not as 'geeky' as Gerard Christopher's (I know I'm echoing here, but it MUST be reinforced).

Trivia: The show was cancelled following a lawsuit filed by Warner Brothers (the company that owned the Superman "family" of characters) against the Salkinds who had leased the rights in the early 1970s and made the film series.
Every episode seemed to me to be about Lex Luthor having Superboy trapped in another mind game -- VR -- and I didn't like that or the actor who portrayed Luthor as a grinning maniac.

Understand that the universe of Superboy's Legion is a "safe" one.
When Superboy first makes his Legion, most people are there for the fun of it, though several are drawn by the chance to do good or prove themselves with the universe watching.
This does NOT mean that they must be innocent (Thom and Jo certainly were not), nor does it mean they must match the ones from the published Superboy's Legion.
