Supercharger showed their musical talent and charisma during there set.
The musical talents of Booger on drums, Brandon on rhythm guitar and Mike on bass also helped show that this band will be a force to reckon with in the coming months.

Band vocalist/guitarist Robert Flynn is hardly one who needs introduction, as his throaty barks have become quite well known throughout the past few years.
For any other band, "Supercharger" would most likely be a fairly respected outing, but unfortunately for a band like Machine Head, it is one that will almost assuredly turn away more of their diehard fanbase than their last.
Perhaps its the sign of a band in decline or perhaps its just a band caught in the quagmire of recklessly trying to push themselves into dynamic new ground, but in truth, "Supercharger" is a solid outing and little more.

 TRD Supercharger
The reason for this is that the supercharger compresses the air to a high degree inside the supercharger and it decompresses as it enters the plenum.
It is said that the compression of the air occurs in the plenum after it leaves the supercharger in the modified roots type supercharger unlike the Lysholm where the air is compressed inside the blower and then decompresses as it leaves the blower and enters the plenum.
The supercharger uses straight cut gears in the nose drive and at idle there is no load on the gears that they tend to rattle back and forth a bit and that presents as a rattling sound.

 Roadrunner Records
Machine Head is a band that always strives to move forward, and it's clear that everything they've learned about themselves and making music over the previous four studio efforts has been poured into this one.
With a new album that harkens back to the aggression of old, plus a new guitarist with a historic connection to the band (Phil Demmel, who played with Flynn in the much-loved Bay Area thrash band Vio-lence), Machine Head is glancing back while still moving forward.
And now that the band is back home on Roadrunner in America, the final piece of the puzzle has fallen into place.

The band went down the coast to hit LA and play the Jabberjaw, do a live radio performance at Stanford College set-up by Darrin Rafaelli, and headline a night at the first Rip Off Rumble, which turned out to be Diane’s last show.
After it all was over, the band surely had a great run: they toured Japan, were loved by many, released records on a bunch of great labels, launched Rip Off Records, got to play shows with their idols, and were in demand for records and shows on a pretty consistent basis.
They were one of the finest bands from modern garage-punk’s greatest period, and their music holds up well against much of today’s bands; the lack of pretense, the youthful exuberance, the innocent and at all times fun stance is something lacking in much of today’s music.

The band reacted to the backlash by compromising, it seems.
Supercharger has some ham-fisted moments straight from the early thrash days (as if to make a point, the riff that drives lead track "Bulldozer" does exactly that), but it never gets stuck there.

I had gotten to the step to install the supercharger to the side of the motor when I noticed that the back bracket that bolts onto the exhaust manifold was missing from the kit.
All that is needed would be a larger crank pulley, a slightly smaller supercharger pulley, a modified belt roller kit to move the belt's path away from obstructions around engine, perhaps an intercooler, and ignition controller.
After installing the SuperCharger I realized that a huge restriction to the system was the small air intake and it did'nt tak eme long to modify and fit my two afetr market air induction devices.

View topic - Supercharger vs Turbo
A supercharger will almost always give a smoother power delivery than a turbo, as there is no lag while the system waits for exhaust pressure buildup.
Because the supercharger is run off the pulley, power is immediate, and creates a smooth power curve throughout the rpm (as the engine rev's higher, so does the supercharger compress the air more).
Superchargers are generally much easier to implement then turbo chargers, due to the general lack of intercoolers (usually) and complex exhaust piping.

In supercharging, it is generally recommended that fuel pressure be increased by several pounds for every pound of boost pressure.
When the Supercharger is producing boost and you abruptly let off the gas, closing the throttle plates, the boost has nowhere to go - kind of hard on everything.
Injectors: If you have a Supercharger bolted on a stock setup or one with a few mods and you are running low boost, the factory injectors should be fine.

It marked the unofficial close of the band’s tenure with the American branch of Roadrunner Records (which was officially completed with the Hellalive disc), but was also an effort besieged with difficulties, least of which was that it was issued on October 2nd, 2001, scant weeks after the nightmarish events of September 11th.
It didn’t help that the first single from the album was called “Crashing Around You.” The track, which had landed at radio on September 10th and was in the Top 5 Most Added, was yanked almost immediately.
But back in the US, all concerned – the band and the label – felt that a reexamination of their relationship was in order.

Although subsequent albums maintained most of the momentum, 2001's Supercharger took a bit of a critical and commercial panning, leading some to label last year's Through The Ashes Of Empires a last chance for the band to "return to form".
As the band come to the end of a world tour that has cemented this progress, musicOMH.com took some time to ask drummer Dave McClain just how the band have managed to make their comeback...
One of the key changes that took place between Supercharger and Through The Ashes Of Empires was the departure of guitarist Ahrue Luster and the joining of Phil Demmel - a former bandmate of vocalist Robert Flynn.

The album, which was originally set to contain material recorded solely at the band's December 8th, 2001 show at the Brixton Academy in London, England, will now likely include at least one, and possibly as many as three songs, recorded during the group's summer 2002 European festival run, according to informed sources.
For those concerned, the band will still be playing all of their scheduled Summer shows and festivals overseas, and will continue on track until a new guitarist is found.

The sounds and ideas found on Supercharger are interesting and varied, as industrial mellowness mixes with punk fury, rap-metal leanings, and White Zombie-esque onslaughts, all captured deftly, thanks in part to producer Johnny K (Disturbed).
There is absolutely nothing challenging or brilliant or powerful about "Supercharger." It sounds about as uninspired as all of the little "New-Nu-Metal" bands of 2001 (Sw1tched, Chimaira, Flaw, etc. etc.) The songs on here are rather boring and don't have the flare that past releases had.

The band was one of the first (along with Biohazard) in the early '90s to merge hardcore's aggression with metal's mammoth guitar riffs, helping to launch a style that became quite popular by the turn of the 21st century.
SUPERCHARGER proves that band still specialize in angst-filled, brutal music, as evidenced by such standout cuts as "Bulldozer," "Kick You," "Deafening Silence," "American High," and the title track.
While a few musical detours that sprouted up throughout their former album can still be detected here (some rapping attempts, etc.), SUPERCHARGER is more akin to Machine Head's first two albums, BURN MY EYES and THE MORE THINGS CHANGE.
