Project Babylon Supergun / PC-2 - Iraq Special Weapons
Early in the war with Iran, the Iraqi government engaged world- renowned artillery expert Gerald V. Bull, whose lifetime obsession was a the construction of a "Supergun," a huge howitzer able to fire satellites into space or launch artillery shells thousands of miles into enemy territory.
The superguns were potentially capable of firing chemical, biological and nuclear weapons to a range of up to 1,000 km.
In addition, supergun components were fabricated in separate parts by factories in England, Spain, Holland and Switzerland.

Gerald Bull - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
He was a driven man, who moved from project to project always chasing his dream of economically launching a satellite using a huge artillery piece.
To this end he designed the Project Babylon "supergun" for the Iraqi government, during which he was murdered (allegedly by Israeli Mossad agents) outside his home in Brussels, Belgium.
The supergun project was stopped when its parts were seized by Customs in the United Kingdom in November 1990, and most of Bull's staff returned to Canada.

 Supergun - GamerWiki
Supergun, (sometimes referred to as a JAMMA test rig) allows you to run a wide selection of arcade PCB's with the aid of a SCART enabled television and a couple of gamepads or joysticks in the comfort of your own home.
Supergun is that it allows you to test out your arcade boards before you lock them away at the back of your arcade cabinet, but as it's on average only the same size as your standard run-of-the-mill games console it takes up a darn sight less room than a full-size cabinet!
Supergun enables you to play any boards conforming to the JAMMA (Japanese Arcade Machine Manufacturers Association) standard, or any board capable of being converted to JAMMA by means of an adapter loom.

How to build a SuperGun v1.0 (11/5/02) by tim@arcadecollecting.com *Disclaimer: Do not attempt this project if you are not comfortable dealing with deadly levels of live AC voltage.
A SuperGun is a device or "fl box" that lets you play JAMMA arcade game PCBs (circuit boards) outside an arcade cabinet, usually on your TV, sometimes on an RGB monitor, and even possibly (but not cheaply) on a VGA monitor.
My favorite SuperGun monitor is the NEC Multisync 3D, because it accepts a wide range of signals, from Standard 15.75 KHz, to Medium 25 KHz, to High (VGA) 31.5 KHz.

Telegraph | News | Saddam in plot to build new 33ft supergun
Iraq has been building a 33ft-long supergun capable of firing biological or chemical shells with equipment from German companies, prosecutors said yesterday.
The new gun, which has a 209mm bore, is nowhere near as powerful as the largest of the superguns designed by the Canadian weapons expert Gerald Bull.
The involvement of British companies in the provision of shells, propellant and equipment for the original supergun and the way the firms were used by MI6 to keep track of the programme led to the 1995 Scott inquiry.

In the late 1980's the concept of a supergun seemed to be on everyone's lips.
He was now international recognized and held in the highest esteem by his fellow scientists and major players in the murky governmental world of international military economics and politics.
No matter what Bull told everyone about his concept of a supergun being build exclusively as a less expensive method of launching satellites, there were those who continued to declare it to be a weapon of such fearful destructive potential that it would upset the balance of power in the Middle East.

But as arms experts continue to see and gauge what is left - weapons held within protected enclaves or hulking metal relics even the most ambitious looters were unable to cart away - they are getting a concentrated picture of the obsessive martial mind that ran this country for 25 years.
Scattered more thinly are the traces of grandiose projects like the supergun, nicknamed Big Babylon and designed for Saddam by a brilliant Canadian engineer named Gerald Bull, who was eventually assassinated for his trouble, probably by Israeli or Western intelligence agents.
If the big guns had operated as designed, they would have been able to hurl a 135 kilogram, or 300-pound, projectile nearly 1,000 kilometers, or lift a much larger payload into orbit if it was outfitted with a small rocket engine.
