 Deputy Minister appointed for Education
Palmer was instrumental in establishing the Western Canada Protocol for Collaboration in Education, and initiated the first projects to develop common curriculum for core subjects in the four western provinces and the territories.
As Assistant Deputy Minister, Dr. Palmer’s major initiatives have been in science and mathematics, in testing and measurement, and in exploring the educational uses of technology.
He actively promotes partnerships between business and education, and supports that effort as a director for Careers: the Next Generation Foundation, and as a member of the Corporate Council of the Conference Board of Canada.
