 Superman: The Movie (1978)
Movie taglines are rarely so swollen with promise and portent as that for Superman: The Movie, a film that leapt skyscraper-high hurdles of cultural anticipation and cinematic limitations in a single bound.
Director Richard Donner helmed the 1978 film with one word as his mantra: "verisimilitude." From this ostensibly simple concept of making the fabled last son of planet Krypton a believable screen character, Donner can be credited with creating what remains (arguably) the greatest comic-to-screen adaptation in moviedom.
Despite whatever chides may come from the mouths of super-purists, Superman: The Movie is a DVD that easily warrants a place in the libraries of fans of movies that blend spectacle with sentiment, comic book geeks looking for a respectable way to indulge their passion, or anyone whose imagination has ever allowed them to fly.

 Biography for Terence Stamp
Stamp's film appearances in the 1970s were sporadic; near the end of the decade, looking cooler and more distinguished, he popped up in villainous character roles, most visibly as one of a trio of Kryptonian criminals in Superman (1978) and Superman II (1980).
The off-screen romance of Terence Stamp and Julie Christie while they were filming Far from the Madding Crowd (1967) inspired The Kinks' hit, "Waterloo Sunset" - hence the line "Terry met Julie" in the song.

Superman (expanded) Soundtrack Reviews @ Movie Music . com
Following a noble opening fanfare which is the main theme for the planet, the first part of the film, the Krypton sequence, photographed through fog filters and with a limited color palette, is delicately scored for sparse instrumentation, wordless choir and synthesizers, occasionally punctuated by brass for transitions.
Presenting the original score in its proper and complete order, with alternate cues at the end of each side, and remastered to a crisp and bright sound (although a metallic reverberation still effects "Leaving Home"), this is pretty much the definitive film music release.
Structured in exactly the same way as his later "Raiders March," the theme for Superman is rousing and brassy (even with the appearance of the love theme towards the end).

Superman II Originally, Richard Donner had filmed Superman talking to his father for Superman II (1980), but Marlon Brando sued for (and won) a percentage of the profits of the first film, so the producers had his scenes removed, and they were replaced by those with Superman's mother instead.
Giving credence to Margot Kidder's 2004 claim that enough footage exists for a Richard Donner directed cut of Superman II (1980) to be released, the 1984 ABC Television broadcast of the film used over 30 minutes of footage deleted from the theatrical release, almost all of it Donner-directed footage.

Hulk represents the most involving superhero motion picture since Superman soared skywards in 1978.
Although Lee injects plenty of philosophy and tragedy into the film (the tone is unusually somber for a popcorn movie, although not so dark that it kills the enjoyment), he never forgets that the Hulk is a comic book character.
Hulk begins with a short prologue in 1966 where a young Bruce Banner watches his unhinged father, a discredited military scientist, commit an unspeakable deed.
