Supernumerarynipples are a fairly common occurrence, generally unrelated to other conditions or syndromes.
They usually occur in a line below the existing nipple and are often not recognized as extra nipples, because they are usually small and not well formed.
Documenting supernumerarynipples usually includes simply noting that the infant had extra nipples (also how many and where on the chest they were located).
Background: Supernumerarynipples (SNs) are a common minor congenital malformation that consists of nipples and/or related tissue in addition to the 2 nipples normally appearing on the chest.
Rarely, a SN is as large as a normal nipple (Schmidt, 1998).

Most cases of nipple retraction are almost always a benign muscle retraction of the nipple to touch or cold.
Polythelia (extra nipples) and polymastia (extra glandular breast tissue) are common developmental abnormalities of the breast and nipple which usually present as small lesions along the mammary line, an embryologic line that extends bilaterally from the axillary regions (armpit) to the inguinal ligaments (groin) and into the vulvar area in females.
The association between polythelia (supernumerarynipple) and kidney and urinary tract malformations (KUTM) is controversial.
It’s actually more common than you would think for someone to “grow an extra nipple” though they tend to be born with it.
[…] Woman grows nipple on foot: A 22-year-old woman sought medical care for a lesion in the plantar region of her left foot, a well-formed nipple surrounded by areola and hair.
Either of those could have made the thing larger or more sensitive (and on the bottom of the foot - more painful), and clearly no sensible person is going to assume that the lump on her foot she’s had for years which has suddenly begun to grow is a BREAST.
