	Supertouring - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Supertouring, Class 2 or Class II Touring Cars were the rules laid out by the FIA for national touring car racing in 1994, based on the 2.0 L formula created for the BTCC in 1990.
		Supertouring replaced Group A as the norm in nearly every touring car championship across the world, but escalating costs and the withdrawal of works team caused the category to collapse in the late 1990s.
		Unfortunately, during the Supertouring's long run, the category would suffer two fatal accidents in 1995 alone, Gregg Hansford at Phillip Island and Keith O'Dor, at Avus fatal accident was as a result of a broken neck caused by their car being t-bone.

		North America has to be one of the most unlikely contries in which to see SuperTouring racing.
		The USA have never been keen to adopt European motorsport of any kind, favouring their own breed of racing, but the North America Touring Car Championship (NATCC) did become a reality in 1996, but unfortunately suffered from a continual lack of full manufacturer support.
		Organising the series for Forsythe was Roger Elliot, vice president of Forsythe Racing, with assistance from TOCA president Alan Gow.

		What are you going on about nik this season is great as was last season, ok the supertouring days were good but you cant say the drivers driving this season are not proper drivers, i prefer last season to any other season in the world.
		I think what I would say the main difference between supertouring and the BTCC now, is that with supertouring, you could make even a cack base car into a good racer (and I'm expecting you all to give me examples to prove me wrong)

		I used to watch the German Supertouring on some bizarre channel on cable too, it was awesome, and had some great drivers like Aiello, Tarquini etc.
		I like DTM more than BTCC now, I think the BTCC cars are a bit crappy although thte racing is pretty good.
		I used to think the FIA should organise things so that the DTM was like the Formula One of touring cars, and national series being like feeders under supertouring rules.
