SURFEST organisers announced today they have secured Maitland Toyota as naming rights sponsor for Newcastle's 2007 festival of surfing to be held at Merewether beach from March 8 -18, 2007.
The sponsorship of the women's event at Surfest in 2006 by Maitland Toyota represented the largest single cash investment by a Hunter-based company in the 2006 festival and planted the seed to grow further involvement.
Surfest still needs further corporate and government support to ensure the entire festival goes ahead in the broad form it has adopted in recent years.
