	Surrealistic Pillow - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Surrealistic Pillow is an album by American psychedelic band Jefferson Airplane, released in February of 1967.
		Surrealistic Pillow was the first blockbuster psychedelic album by a band from San Francisco, announcing to the world the active bohemian scene that had developed there starting with The Beats during the 1950s, extending and changing through the 1960s into the Haight-Ashbury counterculture.
		Surrealistic Pillow was originally released as RCA LSP 3766, and peaked at #3 on Billboard's Pop Albums chart, driven by two songs that remain the ones indelibly associated with the band, the singles "White Rabbit" and "Somebody to Love," which peaked at #8 and #5 respectively on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

		Surrealistic Pillow is the record that made Jefferson Airplane a big hit on American airwaves and subsequently defined much of the hippie mainstream scene.
		Grace Slick's strange vibrato voice helps accentuate the quirkier aspects of the Airplane's sound, and she works quite well with the two male lead vocalists, Paul and Marty, who harmonize nicely throughout the record.
		The original production could have been a bit better on Surrealistic Pillow, however, this re-released version of the album features both mono and stereo versions of each song, immensely improving the sound.
