Survivor the band has been a registered trademark since 1994 (on a side note, wasn't their big work in the 80s?).
Survivor (band) alleged that the Survivor (TV) use for CDs and other merchandise infringed on their music-related trademark.
Sure Survivor (band) is doing the Starbucks commercial, but I don't think they have much to worry about in lost sales- that would imply they are making sales.

Needles, a 35-year-old model, actress and singer in a band called "76 Juliet" told her agent Louie Higgins, of ACA Entertainment out of Milwaukee, that she planned to leave the country to act in a feature film in Europe for 2-1/2 months.
Dave Roembke, the leader of the band, said Needles indicated she would be filming in Mexico and not Europe.
Both fellow band members feel Needles would do very well on the show and said she has what it takes to make it to the top spot and win the $1 million prize for surviving on an island for 40 days.

Two releases for the band Survivor are coming out on the shelf.
Sony Legacy gives the band the ‘best of’ treatment and the result is a nice album of pop rock but the album only goes about five songs deep as Survivor may have made a big splash on the music industry but it only lasted a few years.
The album starts off with the song that put them on the map, "Eye of the Tiger" The other hits are piled up to the front of the CD so at least the listener does not have to go skipping tracks to get what they are looking for.

The world needs more bands that play from their hearts and souls and a lot less of the corporate made prima donnas that are killing music.
There are also some cool photos from the band's own collection.  I really think that when you go out and try to find one album by Survivor that you can pack around, get the best track selection, and with the great information it contains, you are hard pressed to find better than this.
If you want to gauge how big of a Survivor fan you are, drop this disc in the player, you might be surprised at the results.
