Royce Carlton - Susan Estrich Legal & Political Commentator
One of the nation's leading legal scholars, Susan Estrich is the Robert Kingsley professor of Law and Political Science at the University of Southern California.
Estrich is perhaps best known in academic circles for her path-breaking work on the law of rape, notably her book Real Rape.
Estrich was among the first to speak about her own experience, combining the voice of the victim and the expert.

 JONATHAN TURLEY
Estrich, this lack of decency appears to be the result of a more debilitating and insidious disease that "can affect [her] brain, [her] judgment and [her] ability to do a job": chronic myopic distemper (CMD).
Estrich noted that she was an example of a female intellectual in the neighborhood, but, like others, is not published by the newspaper on a regular basis.
Estrich clinically observed that his refusal to publish her letter simply "underscores the question I've been asked repeatedly in recent days, and that does worry me, and should worry you" — that Kinsley is no longer rational due to Parkinson's disease.

Amazon.com: The Case for Hillary Clinton: Books: Susan Estrich   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-05)
Estrich's fundamentally inexcusable dilemma which haunts the potential effectiveness of her disappointing screed is that her "case" for Hitlery is exclusively based on some arrogant presumption that Estrich has misguidedly in her mind.
That flaw is the first, misused "foundation" of Estrich's case, and she promptly but no less disadvantageously follows up with her next feeble reason: Hitlery's ahead by such a large margin in NY polls, aside from California, the bluest, anti-traditional, counterculture cesspit in the union.
Susan Estrich wrote this book on the cutting edge of time to sell a book like this...and noticing the make over she displays on TV...she seems to think she might have a chance in a Hillary campaign and administration.

 Ethics Pollution Personified
As a law professor, Estrich undoubtedly teaches her students that testimony obtained in exchange for cash has no evidentiary value, and that a gossip columnist and a pornographer would not meet any objective standard of reliability as witnesses, but never mind.
Estrich's suggestions are dictated by hatred, anger, vengeance, and most of all, a lack of imagination.
Professor Estrich won't believe this, but unethical tactics aren't nearly as effective as she thinks they are.

 Susan Estrich - Sycophant
Susan Estrich, filling in for Alan Colmes, should be praised also, doing a pretty good job cross-examining one of the veterans featured in the ad.
Estrich, of course, is maneuvering for a talk show slot at Fox, as I see it, so her ass-kissing is a fine plan for her to achieve that goal.
Susan Estrich on Fox still has that goofy, teeth-bared, face-wide grin on her face whenever she's not speaking.

CJR Daily: Susan Estrich on Gender, Missing Voices, and That Nasty Email War
Susan Estrich, a law professor at the University of Southern California, author, columnist, commentator on Fox News and former advisor to Michael Dukakis' presidential campaign, has launched a high-profile war of words with Michael Kinsley, editorial page editor of the Los Angeles Times.
Estrich's correspondence with Kinsley, and his replies, have been reprinted widely, including by the DC Examiner.
Susan Q. Stranahan: You've been critical for some time about how the Times treats women on its staff and on its opinion pages, launching a campaign two years ago to save the job of the lone female news columnist [Patt Morrison], and now demanding the inclusion of more women's voices as commentators.

In This Corner, Wearing Brass Knuckles, Susan Estrich
Estrich has turned an annoyingly nasal voice, a painted-on smirk, and a ton of attitude, into a secondary career as one of TV’s talking heads.
Estrich and her cohorts replied that what other papers do or don’t do is no defense for what the Times does or doesn’t do.
At one fell swoop, Estrich not only struck a new low in debating tactics, but by trying to score points off the man’s illness, proved that in her case at least it’s compassionate liberal that’s the oxymoron.

Feminists Get Hysterical by Heather Mac Donald
Estrich lodges the standard charge in all fake discrimination charges: the absence of proportional representation in any field is conclusive proof of bias.
Misogynist tropes that sum up Estrich to a T. It is the fate of probably 98 percent of all op-ed hopefuls to have their work silently rejected, without the “courtesy of a call.” But when a woman experiences the silent treatment, it’s because of sexism.
Estrich does not disclose if she conducted this sex change operation on all conservative women when compiling her phony statistics on the proportion of female writers on the op-ed page.

Since Estrich's emails have also made repeated threats about the power of her "mimeograph machine," -- she originally said she'd use it to alert Matt Drudge; who knew Drudge communicates entirely by mimeograph? -- her understanding of the world we live in now is obviously limited.
Buried under Estrich's histrionics is a legitimate point: Kinsley, who took over the paper's opinion pages last year, really does seem like the epitiome of the L.A.-hating wonk from Harvard, with an obvious preference for sticking to his coterie of East Coast friends.
Then there's Estrich's transparently insincere claim that, really, all she wants is to see more L.A. women writers in the Times op-ed pages, right or left, she doesn't care that the Times doesn't run her column in particular, or more columns generally by women fellow travelers.

Estrich, of course, is a “Fox News Democrat”—is even more likely to trash her party than the “Hardball Dems” seen on MSNBC.
Estrich found several problems with the Times reporting, which she referred to as “garbage.” She was shocked to learn that some such reporting is based on anonymous accusers.
ESTRICH: But there are a lot of guys on both campaigns, on all the campaigns now, who do some very questionable lobbying on behalf of very questionable interests and do things that trouble me a whole lot more than a woman writing a book about masturbation.
