 Peak energy shortage mounts to 12 percent: Shinde
Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said here Sunday that the country was facing a peak load shortage of 12 percent due to a mismatch in the supply-demand ratio.
On Delhi's power crisis due to overdraws by its neighbouring states, Shinde said that the top priority was to increase generation by using hydel and thermal sources.
Referring to the four ultra mega power projects being taken up under a public-private partnership (PPP) in four states to generate about 3,200 MW over the next three-four years, Shinde said the stakeholders have been asked to submit project reports by January, 2007.
