Yoga Sutra of Patanjali, the chapters of Samadhi Pada, Sadhana Pada, Vibhuti Pada and Kaivalya Pada
Patanjali's Yoga Sutra, which outlines the sovereign path of Raja Yoga, is composed of a total of 195 sutras or aphorisms.
Sutras literally mean 'threads'—the idea being that each individual blossoms of thought are bound together to form the eventual wreath of a complex philosophy.
In 55 sutras, the Sadhana Pada establishes the aim of yoga as being the control of the chitta vrittis (thought processes) to attain the highest union or 'yoga'.

The Wonderful Law of the Lotus Sutra
What is striking to many about the Lotus Sutra is the radical emphasis on devotion and faith, noting that the path to buddhahood is not restricted to those who practiced monastic auterities but to those who worship the buddha (or buddhas) in a number of ways.
In the Lotus Sutra's 23rd Chapter on the Deed of the Medicine-King Bodhisattva, the Pure Land of Amida Buddha is described as the next birth for women and men who joyfully accept the accounting of that bodhisattva in the 23rd chapter.
It is clear especially in the 14th chapter that the main thrust of the Lotus Sutra is for the elite of highly-attained bodhisattvas in the closing Dharma-age (Mappo), to clarify their practice and to demonstrate the unity of the Buddha Dharma behind the facade of seemingly infinite diversity of 'practices' (upaya).

Other than the Heart Sutra, the Diamond Sutra is probably the most popular among the texts of Prajnaparamita, which is the body of sutras and commentaries representing the essence of the Mahayana Buddhism.
The Sutra is a record of a dialogue between the Buddha and one of the Ten Great Disciples, Subhuti, in front of 1250 Buddha's followers.
Diamond Sutra is an important teaching to break up the ignorance of the attachments of the self and of the Dharma.

 brahma-sUtra
This text is called a collection of `sUtra'-s, pithy statements that discourse upon some specific aspect of the field -- and is the most important work relating to that doctrine, as it codifies the entire spectrum of thought encompassed by that doctrine, and serves as a point of reference for all matters of philosophical import.
Quite naturally, then, the author of the sUtra-s for each school occupies the highest rank among the scholars of that school, and is regarded as its founder or progenitor, and as the primary guru of all others claiming loyalty to that scholarly tradition.
The justification for this is said to be that since each sUtra is itself a complete discourse rather than a mere statement in a work, it has to have a shAnti-pATha at the beginning and at the end, just as with complete works like the bhagavadgItA or the upanishhad-s.

 Lotus Sutra
The Lotus Sutra is probably the pre-emminent teaching of the Mahayana canon attributed to Shakyamuni Buddha.
These other sutras that are usually included with the lotus Sutra, were probably composed later than it was, but they are necessary to understanding the Lotus Sutra.
The Lotus Sutra is the primary reference for Nichiren Buddhists, and would be for Tendai Buddhists as well if they weren't so fascinated with Esotericism.
