The Secretary gave an illustrated talk on `the growth of Sutton Bridge and the development of the Golf Club' which was well-recieved.
The Sutton Bridge Art Group have held a very successful exhibition of their work in the clubhouse in later April and early May. A number of the paintings were sold to members, and it was considered such a success that the group wishes to repeat the exhibition next year.
The Barnet golfers come to Sutton Bridge every year and take part in these fund-raising activities and the Club is very pleased that they take the trouble and time to travel such a long way for such worthwhile causes.

Turnstone have recently been found feeding on spilt foodstuffs (grain, peas and fishmeal) on the dockside at Sutton Bridge and King’s Lynn.
Of course, once colour ringed, the opportunity for sightings is not restricted to the Wash. Along with one moving across to the Netherlands, we have also had two observed on their breeding grounds in arctic Canada, doubling the WWRG’s previous number recovered there.
More incredibly all three have subsequently been re-sighted back on the Wash. In addition, three colour-ringed birds were seen at Sutton Bridge which we know to have been ringed on Ellesmere Island in Canada.

Enron, the Texas-based utility which owns Wessex Water, has put its Sutton Bridge gas-fired power plant up for sale it emerged yesterday, less than a year after the station supplied its first electricity to the Grid.
