 Sutton Park
Sutton Park House and gardens are screened by a row of houses in the main street of the immaculately kept village of Sutton on the Forest and the modest entrance leaves visitors surprised at the delightful house and gardens hidden from view.
The gardens at Sutton Park vary between country garden casual and semi-formal.
The house stands on rising ground with a south aspect overlooking a spacious and well timbered park, some of which may have been part of the original Forest of Galtres and contains many trees that are several hundred years old.

Wiltshire County Council - Wiltshire Community History Get Population/Census Information
Wood-pasture is probably the correct description of the area of the physical forest of Chute, as defined in perambulations from 1300 onwards; this area seems to equate fairly precisely with the modern parish boundary of Chute Forest, as determined by the enclosure commissioners in 1820.
Chute Lodge, which stands in the centre of this small parish, is believed to occupy the site of an earlier (perhaps Elizabethan) house, and if this it true then it is likely to have been built as a consequence of the leasing of the forest in 1591.
As at Sutton Veny near Warminster (funded by the same family) the services of the notable Victorian architect John Loughborough Pearson were engaged, and he also rebuilt Chute church at around the same time.
