Seoul Subway Line 1 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway links central Seoul, South Korea to Uijeongbu Bukbu Station in the northeast, Guro and Incheon Stations in the southwest, and Suwon and Cheonan Stations in the south.
It is the second station in the Seoul Subway system to be opened with operating platform screen doors.
The line first opened in 1974 between Seoul Station and Cheongnyangni Station, the only underground portion of the line (7.8 km).

Currently, the Suwon subway line is part of the Dark Blue line (line 1) system which connects to downtown Seoul, Seoul Station and the Blue subway line.
However, Suwon Station is quite far from Kyung Hee, and it is recommend that you take the bus into Seoul and connect to the subway there.

For several of the subway lines actually have names for all or part of their length—it's just that these names don't show up on route maps or station signs.
I once took Line 1 all the way out to Suwon just for the heck of it, though never really explored that city either.
The plaque is located in City Hall station, on the ticket level halfway along the long corridor that runs north-south above the subway tracks.
