The Burgman's single gear means there is a lag between opening the throttle wide and in the engine really getting into it's gate.
I began suffering back-ache from the Burgman's riding position, (this is a personal opinion, we are all different shapes) and found the stretch to the bars a bit too much.
In fact, it was one blustery trip from Bristol to Exeter with a poor friend clinging on for dear life that burst the Burgman's dream-bike bubble, as I fought the bike sideways down the M5.

Suzuki brought the moto-press to the San Francisco area to put the Burgman in its proper environment: inner-city streets with steep hills and stop-and-go traffic, along with a jaunt into wine country to show that this scoot has some traveling prowess, as well.
First introduced in Germany in ‘98, (which makes sense, since Burgman means “urban man” in Deutschland) the ‘07 version is the first redesign since the scooter came to our shores in ‘03.
The power increase, according to Suzuki, comes from bumping the stroke 6.4mm, an increase in compression, and a new dual-overhead-cam cylinder head.

On another note, I have already had some horrible experiences with the Burgman 650...so much trouble that the bike was brought back to the dealer at 23 miles due to the clutch completely failing.
Like I said in an earlier posting, Suzuki is not Honda, the bike sounds like its got to be awesome, but for a company like Suzuki, I think its a bit too much of a bike for them, Their cars are @#%$ also.

I've ridden both the Burgman and the Honda Silverwing, and the one word you'll never use to describe other is speedy.
The top speed's not bad, rated at 105 on the Burgman and 115 on the Silverwing, but both are slow in getting there.
Even a stock 883 with it's bad case of factory induced asthma (stock pipes, AC, and jets) would walk away from the Burgman, and as we all know, the stock 883 is something of a dog performance wise.
