  usnews.com: Auto reviews: 2004 Suzuki Forenza (5/11/04)
The Forenza is a good car for families on a budget or looking for a second runabout.
Suzuki's version of the low-cost revolution is an economy car packed with electronics and other features that not long ago were off limits to bargain hunters.
And to allay concerns about quality, Suzuki offers one of the most generous warranties on the market, covering the powertrain for seven years or 100,000 miles.

 All-New 2004 Suzuki Forenza
Along with the new-for-2004 Verona midsize sedan, the Forenza is among nine new value-packed vehicles Suzuki will launch in the next five years as the cornerstone of its plan to triple its 2002 U.S. vehicle sales by 2007.
When combined with the Forenza’s speed-sensing power steering (which automatically adjusts the power steering assist according to the vehicle speed) the result is agile but stable handling and a high level of comfort.
If a Suzuki dealer has to keep a vehicle overnight for certain repairs during the new-vehicle limited warranty period, the owner will be provided with a free Enterprise rental car.

Suzuki as a company is a plucky little underdog with a checkered history, and one of the few Japanese automakers from whom something intriguing can usually be expected, year in and year out.
Why Suzuki cannot be given a gentle nudge back to designing their own cars is beyond us.
If Suzuki has the sense to mate this to a good stick-shift, and then sell a truly synchronous, balanced engine at a decent price ($16,000-$19,000 is the rumor), we may have a dark horse in the running.

The 2005 Suzuki Forenza - car reviews
Suzuki avoids the usual gimmicks of a steep destination charge – theirs is $0 – and overpriced floor mats – theirs are included.
The Forenza feels fairly sprightly on city streets, but doesn't do as well in highway merges; the transmission is responsive, but the 2-liter engine needs to rev high to get quick acceleration, and it takes time to get there; then there's a sharp first-second drop, as the gap between gears makes itself known.
Given Suzuki's relationship with General Motors, it should come as no surprise that the Suzuki Forenza is equipped with daytime running lights (even the Corolla has these, because GM sold a version as the Prizm).

The Suzuki Forenza Wagon and Reno are new to Suzuki's Forenza family for the 2005 model year.
Its job is to be Suzuki's pretty face, attracting buyers who might otherwise consider cars sitting on Scion showroom floors, or perhaps the sleek lines of the Mazda 3, to which it bears a slight resemblance.
Suzuki is able to keep prices low because, despite the Japanese nameplate, the cars are built in Korea by Daewoo, courtesy of General Motors, which owns a stake in both Daewoo and Suzuki.

Compare Prices and Read Reviews on 2004 Suzuki Forenza at Epinions.com
Combine the Forenza's generous level of equipment with an air of quality that's right behind the best in class, and you have a car that makes a strong case for itself to shoppers who place a nice, comfortable interior as a high priority.
And Suzuki must have some faith in the dependability of their cars, because their powertrain warranty is a lengthy 7 years/100,000 miles (although the bumper-to-bumper warranty is the usual 3-year/36,000-mile coverage).
Although the Forenza was designed with comfort in mind more than performance, and therefore isn't tuned to my tastes, I found the Forenza to be a worthy new competitor in the economy-sedan class.

New Car Review: 2004 Suzuki Forenza LX
The combination of GM, which owns parts of both Suzuki and Daewoo, and Suzuki, has created the Forenza, which is assembled by GM Daewoo Automotive Technologies.
At its heart, the Forenza is an inexpensive alternative to other compacts, such as the Focus, Civic and Corolla.
Its problem is that it borders on cheap, with a tinny sound to the doors and trunk lid when they're closed, and a general feeling that the bottom line was the main concern all around.

Where the Forenza stands out, however, is in the design of its interior, especially the instrument panel.
Yet the Forenza’s instrument panel did this without bother, and had the added bonus of a large speedometer ringed with a light green translucent band that makes the gauge package stand out in a subtle, refined way.
The silver trim that divides the hard plastic lower from the darker and softer upper is repeated as arcs across the door panels, and echoed in the air vents.

Our Absolute White (read “appliance white”) Forenza ended up being a reliable if pretty much uninteresting tool to get us from point A to point B. There’s certainly no complaint about the price of our little wagon, which was a top-of-the-line EX model.
