MotorPoint — The Fastest Sports Motor Bike Suzuki GSX 1300R
The GSX1300R was designed to be the fastest sportbike on the market and Suzuki hopes that the Hayabusa will be able to conquer the previous top speed records set by all other production motorcycles.
The rear brake is a twin-piston caliper with a 240 mm rotor.
Conspicuously missing from Suzuki's promotion of the Hayabusa is any mention of the bike's top speed potential, quarter mile abilities, or anything else that might imply the possibility of this bike being blindingly, antisocially, anarchistically, frigging fast.

Suzuki's Ram Air Direct (SRAD) intakes are placed close to the centreline of the carefully shaped fairing nose, near the point of maximum air pressure.
Not only is the GSX1300R Hayabusa performance-friendly, it is environmentally-friendly too thanks to the addition of Pulsed-secondary Air-injection (PAIR) which minimises unburned hydrocarbons by introducing fresh air into the exhaust ports.
Finishing off the Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R is a compact instrument cluster with stepmotor tachometer and speedo, with LED backlighting and indicator lights.

 Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa Reviews--March 2001
Suzuki raised the top speed 20mph over other heavyweight sportbikes.
Suzuki gave the bike decent suspension that is fully adjustable on both ends and can be set up as hard or soft as you please.
The 1000 boasts horsepower figures extremely close to the Hayabusa's but has allegedly been limited to 185mph so as not to steal the speed crown, The Hayabusa may be quietly heading into the sport-touring role, but those three words always burned in the front of my brain whenever I pinned the throttle.

After spending the best part of a week with the Suzuki flagship (a ship out of Battlestar Galactica was how one onlooker described it) I have come to respect the Hayabusa as a good all-rounder.
I have only briefly ridden an XX but I feel that the Suzuki is the better bike for spirited riding.
The suspension is a little harder, brakes better and the Suzuki engine makes the Blackbird look positively weak.

I was restricted to 5000rpm to start with which gave reasonable acceleration and 110mph, so it wasn't too bad, but oh, the handling and braking was on another planet compared to what I was used to.
Suzuki has one fast bike here, not quite the 200mph beast they hyped it up to be, although the potential to hit 200mph does exist, but a vey comfortable and useful tool for high speed touring.
