		SvalRak er betegnelsen på et rakettoppskytingsprosjekt ved Ny Ålesund hvis formål er å studere atmosfæren.
		Svalbard ligger svært nær den magnetiske nordpol, og det er dette som gjør stedet egnet for disse studiene.

		About 30 scientists from the United States, Canada, Norway and France use the rocket range in Ny-Ålesund to launch a "Black Brant X" rocket 765 km into the northern hemisphere.
