Here he built his own temples, “the Cathedral of the Soul”, the “old” and “new” Svarga, a “stabbur” (storehouse on pillars), not to mention the main building at Svarga, – all buildings centered around a country courtyard, inspiring both friendly social gatherings and rewarding discussions.
His daily walks in the area around Svarga, with stops along the route for meditation, collecting herbs and conversing with family and friends, provided him not only with a sense of calm, but also with necessary physical activity for sustaining long and demanding working hours.
The direct meaning of the word Svarga is “Heaven, - as a place you can arrive at after death.” Marcello lived permanently at Svarga from 1940 until his death in 1967.
