	Absolut Metal album review - 69 Hard - Blues From Hell (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-30)
		This is the debut from the Swedish Svarte Pan recorded in Roastinghouse studio during January '02 by Anders "Theo" Theander, and also mixed in the same studio.
		Svarte Pan plays 70’s hard rock influenced by progressive rock, but on some of the songs the progressive sound takes over and the musical direction turns to the opposite.
		Svarte Pan has done a great amount of touring both before and after the album, and when I talked to Björn he told me that it was time to work on the second album.

	Svarte Pan
		Svarte Pan is a band based in Malmö, Sweden that released their debut album SOV GOTT in 2002.
		Svarte Pan have a reputation of being a very strong live act, which they really are, because all of the guys are really skilled musicians.
		The last gig he did with Svarte Pan was the release party in late 2004 and I don’t know who is going to replace him at the moment.

		I’ve yet to see Svarte Pan live, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they included a November song in their liveset as well.
		This single is a rare one, Abramis and Svarte Pan pays tribute to the first Swedish heavyrock band that existed — November whose three albums from 1970-72 have reached a infamous fame, the vinyls are rare collectors items but thanks to the re-issued cds the band have reached new fans.
		Svarte Pan is new to me, a great band indeed formed way back in 1999 in Malmo and have so far made a pretty good following.

		Gultskra Artikler are already somewhat famed for their contributions to the netlabel scene with tracks appearing from the same stable as the wonderful Marsen Jules.
		The first person to say 'Deaf Center' wins a prize, for it is he who puts in a remix (under the alias of Svarte Greiner), along with (hey!) Xela, amongst others.
		Deaf Center's Erik Skodvin, remixing here under the name Svarte Grainer, is the least divergent from the original, essentially chopping it up and adding layers of ambient washes highly reminiscent of those found on Pale Ravine.

		Svarte Pan is Swedish and obviously proudly so, recording entirely in their own language.
		Certain songs, too, recall specific Sabbath tunes: the harmonica on Min vän echoes that in The Wizard, and the sludgy Balladen om Lillebror, right down to the guitar sound and the plodding beat, somehow invokes both Black Sabbath (the song, I mean) and War Pigs.
		I may seem to be contradicting what I said earlier about Svarte Pan not being too dependent on Sabbath by pointing out such strong resemblances to that great old band.

		Although not quite matching up to the awesome first album, _Sorgh Pa Svarte Vingar Flogh_ (which translates to "sorrow flies on fl wings") is still a solid effort.

		Simple, fast, agressive (not very much anyway)...but they are not among the crowd, they stand out really high because the melodies are very good recreating dark, a little epic, and melancholic or sad feelings, and they are very elegant doing it.
		They are not very melodic though, just those simple, primitive, repetitive melodies which define true fl metal, but as I said, very well developed.
